Mission Statement
Food for the Journey is a daily email devotional from The Kerygma Group, offering Scripture, reflection, and encouragement to nourish the soul and strengthen the believer’s walk with Christ. Rooted in Catholic tradition and inspired by the Bread of Life, each message equips disciples to live with faith, hope, and love in every season of the journey.
Testimonies abound of individuals who have overcome grief, rediscovered their faith, or found new direction in life through pilgrimages. Footsteps of Faith unites the physical, mental, and emotional elements of a pilgrimage. Teaching the pilgrim patience, endurance, and trust in Divine providence.
The Mission: Is to ignite a transformation in Catholic life by equipping families, couples, and individuals to recognize and rejoice in their home as a Domestic Church. Through engaging digital media, practical formation, and supportive community, we empower every household to answer their call to holiness and become a beacon of faith for generations to come.
At the heart of The Kerygma Group’s mission is our signature offering, a personalized Daily Devotional Email Service designed to bring the Good News into your life every single day. Our flagship product, Food For The Journey. We believe that consistent spiritual nourishment strengthens faith, deepens prayer, and keeps Christ present in the midst of daily life. That’s why we deliver meaningful reflections, Scripture passages, prayers, and encouragement directly to your inbox—where you can read, reflect, and be renewed no matter where your day takes you.
What makes this service unique is the power of personalization. Every subscriber can choose the devotional subject that speaks most to their heart, whether that’s Scripture-based meditations, Marian devotionals, daily prayers, or novenas, and even select how often they wish to receive them. Whether it’s once a day to start your morning with God’s word, or multiple times a day for moments of reflection and renewal, you’re in control of the spiritual rhythm that works best for your walk with Christ.
By making faith a personal, daily encounter, our devotional emails are more than just messages; they’re a lifeline for the soul. In just moments a day, you’ll be reminded of God’s love, strengthened with timeless truth, and encouraged to live the kerygma, the core Gospel message, in your own life. With The Kerygma Group, you’re not just receiving an email; you’re receiving an invitation to deepen your relationship with Christ every single day.
When one truly surrenders their all to God. Wounds are healed, one’s heart and soul, forging deeper connections with God and fellow pilgrims. Many pilgrims take these lessons back into their daily lives, embracing a newfound perspective of gratitude, simplicity, and purpose. A successful pilgrimage is a journey within, a path that continues even after reaching the final destination.
Footsteps of Faith pilgrimages provide the pilgrim a rare opportunity to disconnect from daily distractions and reconnect with God, oneself, and others. With each step, the simplicity of walking, praying, and contemplating the beauty of creation fosters a sense of peace and purpose. Many pilgrims describe the experience as a personal retreat, where they find clarity, healing, and a renewed sense of faith.
At the heart of Footsteps of Faith is a walkathon designed to engage widespread support through sponsorships. Participants are encouraged to pledge $0.50 per mile, contributing to a goal of raising funds to enhance educational opportunities for Catholic students and families.
Introducing “The Little Monastery” Movement
Imagine if every Catholic home became a little monastery, a sacred space of prayer, community, and growth in holiness. Our movement empowers families and individuals to reclaim this ancient vision, bringing the peace and purpose of monastic life into daily living. Our God given mission is to help build one million little monasteries across the nation, one home at a time.
Monastery (n.): A place where a community of like-minded believers lives, prays, works, and devotes their lives to God. A monastery is ordered around communal prayer, sacred silence, hospitality, study, and sanctified work.
A monastery is not primarily a place of escape from the world, but one of sanctification within it. Similarly, the Catholic home is where faith is lived daily, in ordinary responsibilities, prayers, conversations, and sacrifices.
The Domestic Church, a term from early Christian theology, is described as the first school of love and faith. It is in the home that virtues are instilled, Scriptures are lived, and souls are nourished. The Little Monastery is a call to reclaim the home as the heart of Catholic life, nurturing discipleship in everyday moments and creating a national tapestry of households living the Gospel, one prayer, one meal, and one day at a time.
